June 15,2016: Introducing Pixie-

Pixie was allegedly a stray, but was most likely dumped given her size and general condition. She's very sweet but she is so morbidly obese that we originally were unsure whether she could even walk. She has a puncture wound, bad dermatitis from the skin folds and poor hygiene, and somewhere down the line when she's healthy enough for anasthetic her dental concerns will need to be adressed.

We're very pleased to see that Pixie has a positive attitude and great spirit. She's already started short walkabouts for exercise and taken an active interest in exploring her surroundings in her foster home. She's on a veterinary-supervised diet plan as well as treatment for her wound and skin conditions.

It's going to be a long road to recovery and not an easy one, but when you can work with a loving, appreciative lady like Pixie it's all worth it. We look forward to keeping everyone updated as she progresses.

Meanwhile, her ongoing medication, vet visits, blood work, etc, will all cost far more than anyone could ever reasonably be expected to pay as an adoption fee, so any sponosorship or donations will be much appreciated.

It's premature at this point to discuss adoption, but we are hopeful that the day will come soon enough that we will be able to pronounce Pixie as healthy and ready for her furever home!
