Description:
Other Pictures of Oscar (click to see larger version):Oscar is a large standard Dachshund. He's very well behaved, knows basic commands and leash walks well, is house trained, and enjoys most people. Oscar is prone to allergies and came to us with some skin issues, ear infections, and conjunctivitis in one eye. Thanks to great vet care Oscar is showing excellent improvement after only a couple weeks. His coat looks good now, the ears are almost all better, and his eye is also doing very well. Oscar's adopter will have to expect his allergies to be a seasonal or ongoing concern and be ready to take care of him with regular oral antihistamines, regular vet checks, medicated shampoo periodically, and probably also prescription eye drops as needed. That said, Oscar is well worth the effort. He's fun, happy, and very active. Oscar loves being around his humans and tends to vocalize regularly. Because of his size and the powerful voice he has, Oscar will not be suitable for an apartment and will require a securely fenced yard. He is definitely an indoor dog, but Oscar enjoys patrolling the perimeter of his yard as one of his regular activities. After all, we can't have squirrels or flying creatures thinking they can just wander in and out of his space without hearing from him! Oscar will be ready soon, once his allergies finish clearing up and we get his dental cleaning updated. He's a great pet and need a fantastic home. Sadly, Oscar's previous owner passed away so we want to do our best to make sure that Oscar's adoptive home is truly his forever home!
