My name is Dachi, and it's pronounced DOCK-kee. It's a German name, which makes sense since I'm a Dachshund and even came from an owner who is German. My coat is a very soft wire-hair and everyone who meets me and holds me says that they like to pet me :-) It's possible that I'm mixed with something- my legs are a little longer than some Dachshunds. The thing is, I act like a Dachshund, feel like a Dachshund, and sure look mostly like one, so I'm just not sure. I get along with cats, most other dogs as long as they are nice, and people. I really like people! I can be very fast, especially if I think something smells like it needs exploring, but mostly I'm laid-back. I've been told I have great house manners, and that my best feature is that I'm a good boy who really wants to please people. Also, although I am not built perfectly like some of the show dogs, people keep telling me I'm cute. The folks who rescued me said that I'm just a wonderful little guy and that I'm even nicer looking in person than in my pictures. I do have a little scar in one place on my back, probably from a small burn long ago, but it just adds to my personality. That's something I've also been told I have- a nice personality. I sure hope all these good things I'm hearing get me a great home; I would love to find the best forever home and I'd be loyal and loving for life!
