We call Snickers our “lovable lug”.  Although he is quite a bit larger in size than the other dachshunds in his foster home, he fits right in. At 23 lbs, he is all muscle and loves to run.  He does not bark much and it was a week or so until he even spoke a word.  Snickers was surrendered by his owner when she married a guy that did not like dogs.  Not sure how anyone could give this guy up, but their loss will definitely be someone else’s gain. His foster family is getting to know Snickers very well and working with him on commands.  He is quick to learn and loves to please. We are still working on the housetraining, and it is coming along.  He knows how to use the doggie door.  Snickers loves his toys and carries them everywhere.  Although he gets along with his foster family and the other dachshunds, he would also be fine as an only dog as we often find him spending quite time by himself.  Snickers loves people, is well-behaved and learns quickly. So if you're looking for the strong silent type... Snickers is the one for you!
