Rusty was dumped at a kill shelter by his former owner because "he didn't play much anymore". Actually, Rusty is a pretty active guy for a senior. He wanders around a lot, wags, likes to cuddle, and is very well-behaved. He even enjoys leash walks. Rusty had to have some serious dental work, but that's all under control now. He also tested heartworm positive. Treatment with injections would be very hard on Rusty, so he is being treated with the "slow plan". That involves monthly heartworm preventatives to keep any new adults from forming while the existing ones die off over a period of months. Meanwhile, Rusty is a real good sport. He is sweet and cooperative with everything, and has yet to find anyone he doesn't get along with. Rusty is a loving pet who deserves a comfy, caring home. He asks for so little and is such a pleasure to have around!
