Harley is a beautiful and loving dog but he is a work in progress- he came to us without any house training and is still working at it, but is learning fast. Harley's previous owner was gone a lot and Harley had very little socialization, so he is still learning boundaries of acceptable behavior. He has some separation anxiety and jealousy issues and can be snappy if he gets frustrated.

Harley's foster mom is working with him and says he's making progess, so we are optimistic that he can still become the good boy he was meant to be. Harley is young, so he should continue to be receptive to training. With time, love, and continuing positive reinforcement we are hopeful that Harley will be fine for the long run.

A successful placement would require an experienced Dachshund person, preferably with no young people and with a predictable routine. The more time available to work with Harley, the better- he needs the security and reinforcement of a lot of people-time.
