February 4, 2023 - Cheyenne came to us with multiple complications to her digestive tract. Thanks to excellent vet care she kept small bowel cancer in remission, dealt with heart and liver issues, and had a very positive couple years. We are grateful to have had the time to share with her, but when even her strong will to live could no longer fight the inexorable progression of her illness she crossed the bridge. Run free, Shy-shy, you are loved and missed... ❤️ August 14, 2012 - Chloe was a sweet, cute little girl who had been the victim of neglect and malnutrition. Because of her weakened condition and lack of any vaccinations Chloe was unable to resist distemper, a deadly viral condition that could have been preventable if her owners had only gotten her vaccinated and taken good care of her. Chloe was rescued and given all the intervention possible but she just didn’t have the strength to overcome the virus and passed away. We are so glad Chloe had the chance to learn that not all people are bad. She was loved, trusted her caregivers, and was at peace when she passed away. R.I.P. Chloe, and thank you for giving us your love. January 12, 2012 - Connor was a long-term foster who came to us as an elderly gentleman with painful hips from a previous injury that had healed badly, deafness and near blindness, and several other issues. Connor was an independent kind of guy, but he liked being fussed over as long as he was in the mood. He was never very demanding- in all the time we had him Connor almost never complained. Unfortunately, as he aged, Connor’s pain could no longer be managed. Connor had to cross the Rainbow Bridge where he will no longer feel any pain. January 17, 2023 - Cookie came to us years ago in terrible condition. Thanks to some good veterinary care and TLC from her foster family Cookie recovered well enough to be comfortable and happy. Initially we tried to find her a forever home but two things became obvious: First, there weren't any adopters lining up to adopt a sweet senior who was dealing with some high maintenance needs. Second and more important, we found that Cooke and her foster family all agreed she was already where she belonged. Cookie crossed the bridge recently peacefully, and we are privileged to have had her in our care... Thank you to our wonderful supporters who have made it possible to help Cookie, as well as many other deserving Dachshunds. ❤️ Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
